I’m a Fractional Executive With a LinkedIn Audience. Should I Add YouTube?

LinkedIn is good at repeated visibility. YouTube is better when a buyer wants to spend 10–30 minutes deciding whether you actually understand the problem.

If this sounds like you: you already write on LinkedIn, have a professional network, and can explain your domain clearly. People know your title, but they may not understand the depth of how you diagnose problems or what makes your approach different.

For a fractional executive, I would treat YouTube as the depth layer underneath your shorter-form distribution. LinkedIn can create the first touch. YouTube can hold the argument, diagnosis and proof.

What should move from LinkedIn to YouTube?

Not every post. Choose ideas where the buyer needs context: why a company is stuck, what the wrong hire costs, when a fractional leader makes sense, what a board is missing, how you would diagnose a broken funnel, team or operating system, and what a real implementation sequence looks like.

A simple content system

  1. Use LinkedIn to notice which ideas get the right people asking follow-up questions.
  2. Turn the strongest questions into deeper YouTube videos.
  3. Cut useful moments back into LinkedIn posts and short clips.
  4. Send qualified prospects to the most relevant long-form explanation before the call.
Do not duplicate platforms. The goal is not to post the same thing everywhere. Let LinkedIn create frequency and let YouTube create depth.

Who this works best for

It is especially useful when your engagement value is high enough that buyers research you, compare alternatives and want evidence of judgment before speaking with you.

Questions I would answer before you start

Do I need to stop posting on LinkedIn?

No. LinkedIn and YouTube can play different roles. LinkedIn creates repeated visibility; YouTube gives serious buyers more depth.

What should my first videos be about?

Start with the expensive problems you are repeatedly hired to diagnose, plus the questions buyers ask before choosing between a fractional leader, agency, consultant or full-time hire.

Should the videos be highly produced?

Not necessarily. Clear thinking, strong packaging and useful examples matter more than cinematic production.
